IDRA opens insurance scheme for poor

An insurance scheme has been launched for poor people like rickshaw pullers, community police and cleaners. Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) organised an event titled "Sobar Jonno Bima (Insurance for All)" in collaboration with Green Delta Insurance to launch the scheme in the city on Monday. IDRA employees donated their 1-day salary to the scheme. IDRA has paid the insurance premium for 1,000 accidental policies to Green Delta and in return the company will issue the policies. This will cover the policyholders for one year and sum insured is Tk 100,000. IDRA Chairman Shafiqur Rahman Patwary, Green Delta Managing Director and CEO Farzana Chowdhury, Green Delta Adviser and founding Managing Director Nasir A Choudhury, senior officials of the two organizations and policy holders were present at the function. — Statement
