Iqbal Ahmed reelected as chairman of NRB Bank

Iqbal Ahmed has been reelected as the chairman of the board of directors of NRB Bank on Sunday, according to a press release.
He was founding chairman of the bank. He is currently the chairman and chief executive of Seamark Group of Companies and IBCO Food Industries Limited.
Mr. Iqbal, a seasoned businessman with extensive experience in a broad range of trade ventures worldwide, hails from Sylhet. He pioneered imports and exports of frozen seafood in refrigerated containers and was the first to export Black Tiger shrimp to the UK and the EU.
In recognition of his services to international trade, he was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Honours List in 2001. He has also been named a CIP (Commercially Important Person) in Bangladesh almost for every year since 2002.
He is the chairman of the UKBCCI (UK Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce & Industry), which promotes business and entrepreneurship among young people in the UK and Bangladesh. Additionally, he established a charity, the Iqbal Bros Foundation, registered in the UK, which is currently fundraising for Rohingya refugees.
