Karmasangsthan Bank gets new chairman--

Dr A F M Matiur Rahman, a former secretary, has joined Karmasangsthan Bank as its chairman recently, says a statement.
He has been appointed as the chairman of the bank for the next three years from the date of joining.
Dr. Rahman started his career in the government service in 1973. He served in various important positions. At the field level, he served as Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh and Rajbari, and as Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Biyanibazar, Sylhet.
Dr. Rahman has a distinguished 40-year career, serving in various roles, including Deputy Secretary at the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation, the Economic Relations Department (ERD), and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
He also held positions as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Additional Secretary at the Land Appeal Board, and Director General of the Youth Development Department.
Dr. Rahman was the Honorary Director of the Board of Directors of the Karmasangsthan Bank from 2000 to 2002. He is both an economist and a public health specialist.
He did his master's degree in economics from Dhaka University, and PhD in economics (microcredit) from Preston University, USA.
He has published some 32 articles in national and international journals alongside 20 reports and 7 books.
Dr. Rahman hails from Sonarang village, Tongibari, Munshiganj.
