Karmasangsthan Bank held a meeting titled 'Review of activities and future plans for employment generation among the unemployed youth of the country' at its head office on Thursday.

Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance, Nazma Mobarek, attended the meeting as the chief guest, says a press statement.

Dr. A.F.M. Matiur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank, presided over the meeting while Arun Kumar Chowdhury, Managing Director of the bank, Md. Sayed Kutub, Additional Secretary of Financial Institutions Division (FID), Maksuma Akter Banu, Joint Secretary of FID, Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of FID, General Managers of the Karmasangsthan Bank Mahmuda Yasmin, Md. Shafiqul Islam Mia and Md. Amirul Islam were present in the meeting.

In her speech, the chief guest, Nazma Mobarek, emphasised the importance of increasing loan disbursement to empower marginalised women and generate employment.

She also advised increasing financing for environmentally friendly projects. Additionally, she highlighted the need to finance a greater number of trained unemployed youth to promote employment creation.

In his speech, Dr. A.F.M. Matiur Rahman emphasized that the role of Karmasangsthan Bank in creating employment opportunities for unemployed youth is closely linked to the country's socio-economic development.

He reaffirmed the bank's commitment to transforming unemployed youth into entrepreneurs.
