Masud Khan has been re-appointed for a second term as chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Ltd, a subsidiary of Unilever, one of the world's leading consumer goods companies.
The company's board of directors on Monday approved his appointment.
Following the meeting convened to approve the quarterly financial statements for January-March this year, Mr Khan himself confirmed his re-appointment in a telephone conversation with The FE.
Without re-appointment, his tenure at the company would have ended this month. Now, Mr Khan will serve the company for another term of three years.
He was appointed chairman of GSK Bangladesh (now Unilever Consumer Care Limited) in April 2019 for a period of two years.
After the acquisition of GSK by Unilever in June 2020, Mr Khan was appointed chairman of the transferee (Unilever) in July of that year for a period of three years.
Upon completion of his tenure, he was re-appointed as chairman for another term.
Mr Khan is also an independent director at three other multinational companies, including British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company and Marico Bangladesh.
He is also the chief adviser to the board of Crown Cement Group.
Prior to joining the group, he worked at LafargeHolcim Bangladesh as chief financial officer for 18 years. Earlier, he worked for BAT in finance and related fields for 20 years, both at home and abroad.
