Mercantile Bank has appointed Mati Ul Hasan as managing director (MD) of the bank. Earlier, he was additional managing director and chief risk officer of the bank, according to a press release.
Mr. Hasan started his career as probationary officer in IFIC Bank Limited in 1984. He held various positions in different branches and head office of the bank, including the branch-in-charge at the bank's Motijheel office.
He was also posted to important positions at overseas branches in Pakistan. He was also deputy managing director (DMD) of Nepal Bangladesh Bank, a joint venture of IFIC.
Mr. Hasan joined Mercantile Bank in the year 2014 as DMD. He attended various seminars, workshops, training courses on banking and finance at home and abroad. He completed diploma in banking from 'The Institute of Bankers', Bangladesh and was awarded Associateship of Institute of Bankers Pakistan.
