Mazibur Rahman joins Janata Bank as MD

Md Mazibur Rahman joined the state-owned Janata Bank PLC as its Managing Director on November 7, says a statement.

Prior to his new assignment, Mr Rahman served as the Managing Director of Probashi Kallyan Bank.

He started off his banking career in 1998 as a senior officer at Rupali Bank PLC.

In his 26-year banking career, Md Mazibur Rahman held various key positions at Rupali Bank, including Branch Manager at multiple branches, Zonal Head at the Zonal Office, Head of the Divisional Office, and General Manager of several important departments at the bank's Head Office.

Subsequently, he was promoted and appointed as the Deputy Managing Director at Sonali Bank PLC.

Born in 1969 at Hasadia in Mymensingh sadar upazila, Mazibur Rahman completed his B.Sc. (Honours) in agricultural economics and M.S. in agricultural production economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University.

He also obtained the JAIBB and DAIBB certifications from the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB).
