Midland Bank elects new chairman

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury has been elected as chairman of Midland Bank, said a press release.

The decision was made at the bank's 165th meeting of the board of directors last Thursday.

Mr. Chowdhury is one of the sponsor directors and a member of the bank's executive committee. He also serves as the chairman of the risk management committee.

He studied at Wartburg College in the USA and joined PRAN-RFL Group in 1992 as a director. Currently, he serves as the chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL. PRAN and RFL are two prominent brands in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and light engineering sectors, employing more than 145,000 people.
