Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has been named 'Bangladesh's Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion' by Euromoney for a fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its holistic and forward-thinking approach to building a more equitable workplace and community.
In 2024, MTB launched the Shreya platform, supporting over 800 female employees through career development, gender equity initiatives, and addressing workplace challenges. This initiative led to impactful policy upgrades, including miscarriage leave and strengthened grievance redressed mechanisms through the Harassment Assistance Committee and Female Employee Assistance Committee, says a statement.
MTB's Board of Directors includes 25 per cent female representation, well above the industry average of 13.61 per cent. The bank also partnered with Speed and Creative IT through the Swanirbhar Angona Project, empowering women in teaching and digital marketing.
Through its dedicated MTB Angona platform, the bank served over 81,202 women in 2024, while expanding Agent Banking to 184 centers, conducting 267 rural awareness programs on financial literacy and inclusion.
These efforts resulted in a 35.1 per cent increase in customers and a 65.1 per cent rise in deposits under MTB Angona. MTB also contributes to rural and regional development by providing credit to farmers and women entrepreneurs under inclusive loan schemes.
This recognition from Euromoney reflects MTB's unwavering dedication to driving positive, meaningful change -- both through digital transformation and diversity-focused leadership.
