MTB, VISA LAUNCH FIRST MULTIPURPOSE STUDENT CARD

As part of the nationwide "Cashless Bangladesh" awareness programme, Mutual Trust Bank (MTB), in collaboration with Visa, launched the country's first Multipurpose Student Card on October 10 at Pundra University of Science & Technology, Bogura. The innovative card combines a student ID and payment card into one, enabling seamless digital payments across campus canteens, libraries, and merchant points. The event was presided over by Rafeza Akhter Kanta, director, payment systems department, Bangladesh Bank, with the inauguration led by Arief Hossain Khan, executive director, Bangladesh Bank. Notable special guests included Sardar Al Emran, executive director (current charge), Bangladesh Bank, Bogura; and Khalid Hossain, chief digital officer, MTB, among others.
