Nazmul Huda Sarkar promoted to DMD, Midland Bank

Midland Bank has promoted Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar to the position of deputy managing director (DMD), effective from today (Thursday).
Prior to this promotion, he served as senior executive vice president & chief technology officer (CTO) of the bank, according to a press release.
An accomplished technology leader with over 27 years of experience, he has contributed to the strategic planning, digital transformation, and efficient service delivery, while ensuring security and cost-effectiveness.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Sarkar held diverse leadership and engineering roles in Bangladesh and Japan. He served Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) and played a key role in the transition of MTB onto a new digital platform.
He worked in Japan with Match.com as senior application engineer. In addition, he gained professional experience with reputed organisations in Japan and Bangladesh -- building in-depth experience across enterprise technology, digital channels, and large-scale service delivery.
In his role as CTO, he has been responsible for shaping and executing the bank's technology roadmap; strengthening enterprise platforms and digital channels; and enhancing operational resilience through secure, scalable, and customer-centric technology initiatives.
Mr. Sarkar completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Electronics & Computer Science from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Sylhet.
