New bulk carrier ship joins BSC fleet today

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 22 (BSS): A new bulk carrier ship, 'MB Banglar Pragati,' will formally join the fleet of the state-owned Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) tomorrow.

This addition is expected to increase its goods transport capacity by sea and boost revenue earnings.

Purchased with BSC's own funds, the ship, which has a capacity to transport 65,000 tonnes of goods, will officially be handed over to BSC by China's Xingjiang Nanyang Shipbuilding Company Limited on Thursday.

'MB Banglar Pragati' is one of two new bulk carrier ships purchased by BSC to strengthen its fleet capacity. The second, 'Banglar Navjatra,' is expected to join the fleet in December.
