NRB Bank elects new chair of RMC

Dr. Nesar Ahmed Choudhury has been elected as Chairman of Risk Management Committee of the Board of NRB Bank Limited in the 80th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank. Dr. Nesar Ahmed Choudhury is General Practitioner and Principal Partner of Dr. Choudhury and Dr. Sultan Practice, and a tutor at Manchester Medical School. Recently, Dr. Choudhury has been elected uncontested President of Bangladesh Medical Association in the United Kingdom (BMA UK). He is the youngest President of Bangladesh Medical Association in the United Kingdom (BMA UK), Ex-Governor of Mersey Vale Primary School, Heaton Mersey, Stockport UK and Director of N.A. Choudhury Limited. He is involved in other Bangladesh Welfare Services. He has completed his MBBS from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, Bangladesh and MRCGP from the UK.

Subsidiary of Shasha Denims to shut down power system

Energis Power Corporation Ltd. (EPCL), a subsidiary of the Shasha Denims, will shut down its power generation system as the existing contract with the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has expired. According to a company disclosure, the EPCL will shut down its power generation system from July 11. However, the EPCL submitted an application on August 30, 2018 to renew the contract period for further two years along with a conversion to Independent Power Producer (IPP). "After getting permission, it would be disseminated accordingly," according to company disclosure of Shasha Denims. Earlier, the EPCL signed a contract on February 9, 2014 with the BPDB regarding supply of 55 MW power to BPDB. — FE Report
