HRC to set up joint venture with Japanese company

Suzue Corporation of Japan and HRC Bangladesh Ltd. signed a joint venture agreement to register a company in Bangladesh in the name of 'HRC-Suzue Logistics (BD) Limited' on Sunday. Chairman of Suzue Corporation Takahiro Suzue and HRC Chairman & CEO Sayeed H Chowdhury signed the agreement at Westin Hotel in the city. Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Ministry of Commerce Tofail Ahmed MP and former state minister for foreign affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury attended the signing ceremony. Suzue Corporation is one of the distinguished shipping and logistics companies of Japan. The joint venture is expected to facilitate and further develop shipping and logistics trade/business between Japan and Bangladesh.

Padma Bank signs deal with Transfast

Padma Bank Limited, a leading fourth generation bank in Bangladesh, has signed an agreement with the international money transfer company Transfast Remittance LLC in the city on Monday. Following the deal, Transfast clients, including millions of Bangladeshi Diaspora, can now send money back home through Padma Bank's 57 branches. To draw the remitted money in Bangladesh, recipients won't require to open accounts in any of Padma Bank's branches.
