Mercantile Bank arranges training course

Mercantile Bank Training Institute recently organised a day long training course titled "Bangladesh Bank Guidelines for Cash Management". A total of 47 Cash officers from different branches of the bank participated in the training course. Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, MD & CEO (Current Charge) of the Bank inaugurated the training and delivered his speech highlighting the importance and necessity of proper sorting, binding and packing of cash before sending it to the feeding branch. Syed Golam Shahjarul Alam, Joint Director, Department of Currency Management of Bangladesh Bank was present as the resource speaker. Javed Tariq, Principal of MBTI, was also present in the programme. — Statement

UCB signs MoU with ‘Nagad’

United Commercial Bank has signed a MoU with ‘Nagad’ (Third Wave Technologies Limited), country's one of the most potential new Mobile Financial Services recently. This is the first banking arrangement for Nagad with any Bank. Through this arrangement, UCB will provide Nationwide Collection Service to Nagad and act as their payment bank. The MoU was signed by Mr. Md. Sohrab Mustafa, Deputy Managing Director, UCB and Mr. Mostafa Kamal Ahmed FCA, Head of Finance & Company Secretary, Nagad on behalf of their respective companies. In this occasion Md. Abdullah Al Mamoon, DMD, UCB, Md. Sekander-E-Azam, Head of Transaction Banking, UCB, Ikram Farid Chowdhury, SVP, BM UCB and Irfanul Huq, Chief Sales Officer, Nagad were also present among other officials from both of the organisations. Nagad is the digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office. Nagad is a dynamic and secured digital financial service that facilitates customers daily financial transaction needs like cash in, cash out, send money (P2P), mobile recharge etc. 'Nagad' brand is operated by Third Wave Technologies Limited (TWTL). Nagad aims to spearhead the digital financial service revolution in Bangladesh.— Statement
