BSEC chairman gets two-year extension

The government has extended the tenure of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor M. Khairul Hossain for two more years. Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday issued a circular, extending the tenure for the second time. "The tenure of contractual appointment of Professor M. Khairul Hossain has been extended for two years from May 14 or from the date of his joining," said the circular. His existing tenure is scheduled to end on May 14. Earlier, Mr. Khairul was promoted to senior secretary on March 15. The government had appointed Prof Khairul as the BSEC chairman for three years in May 2011 on recommendations by the committee that probed the 2010-11 stock market debacles. In May, 2014 the government extended his tenure till May 14 this year.— FE Report
