CBC group MD visits Bangladesh
Group Managing Director of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC (CBC) Mr S. Renganathan has arrived Dhaka recently. During his visit, he will attend the Staff Conference of the Bank in Dhaka, customer get together in Sylhet and several other branch activities. Further he will have discussion with the Governor of Bangladesh Bank on progress of the bank during his stay in Bangladesh.— Statement
BSCCL tops DSE turnover chart
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) dominated the Dhaka bourse's turnover chart on Sunday while ten traded companies grabbed more than 30 per cent transaction. Market analysts said investors continued to show their buying appetite on BSCCL shares as the company's earnings rose sharply in July-December, 2018. The company's earnings per share (EPS) jumped 2300 per cent to Tk 0.96 in October-December, 2018, from Tk 0.04 for October-December, 2017. In six months, its EPS also soared to Tk 1.43 for July-December, 2018 as against Tk 0.06 for July-December, 2017. The company said EPS increased due to increase in revenue and no significant additional expenditure against the increased revenue. The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 3.49 for July-December, 2018 as against Tk 1.08 for July-December, 2017.
