Rizwan Rahman, a sponsor director, was elected as the vice-chairman of Eastland Insurance at its 225th board meeting on Wednesday, according to a press release.
A former president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2021 and 2022, Rizwan is the managing director of ETBL Holdings, a diversified holding company with interests in infrastructure, financial services, warehousing, and print media, among others.
Over the last decade, Rizwan in various capacities also served in the boards of Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution, Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute, Bangladesh Chamber of Industries, Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He joined the family business in 2006 after completing his higher education in the United Kingdom.
