Rumana Rahman British American Tobacco Group has appointed Rumana Rahman as the Asia Pacific & Middle East Head of HR, effective from February 15, says a statement.
She is the first Bangladeshi to be appointed in such a position. Prior to this role, Rumana Rahman served as the HR Head at BAT Bangladesh for seven years.
Ms. Rahman started her career in BAT Bangladesh as a Management Trainee after completing her BBA from IBA, Dhaka University in 2001. She has a wide range of experiences and has covered HR areas like reward, talent and other generalist streams of business partnering including the Supply Chain HR.
Ms. Rahman was also the Regional HR Planning & Reporting Manager of the Asia Pacific Region based in Hong Kong and is the first woman to be the Top Team Member of BAT Bangladesh.
Rumana Rahman's achievement sets another milestone for the corporate women in Bangladesh.
