Small Capital Platform soon: DSE MD

The managing director of Dhaka Stock Exchnage (DSE) said the capital market will be diversifed soon through the introduction of new products. K. A. M. Majedur Rahman, the DSE managing director, said this at a conference on business and management. American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) organised the confernec on Thursday, a release said. "Post demutualisation initiatives have been taken to diversify the capital market. A Small Capital Platform will be introduced soon for financing and listing small cap companies," the DSE managing director told the conference. He said the formation of clearing and settlement companies would widen the scope of trading of new products. "The inclusion of Chinese consortium as strategic partner of the premier bourse has created another opportunity of further development of the capital market," Majedur said. He also stressed on the participation of fresh investors in the capital market. "The opportunity of taking leadership by new generation is created in the market," DSE managing director told the confernec as special gust. AIUB vice chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna chaired the conference, while the chairman of the University Grants Commission (Bangladesh) professor Abdul Mannan attended the programme as chief guest. — FE Report
