Ten cos snare 28pc turnover on bourse

Ten most traded companies accounted for nearly 28 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) bourse on Wednesday.
Grameenphone (GP) generated the highest turnover.
Market analysts said investors showed their appetite on heavyweight GP shares amid positive news surrounding the GP.
According to media reports, the government again instructed the telecom regulator to resolve the issue regarding its audit claims through discussion amid cases over the issue pending with different courts.
National Tubes came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 106 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 5.55 per cent to close at Tk 151.60 each.
Standard Ceramic clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 82 million changing hands. Its share closed at Tk 421.50 each, losing 2.16 per cent.
Sonar Bangla Insurance emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 75 million changing hands. The company's share price soared 7.89 per cent to close at Tk 36.90 each.
Monno Jute Stafflers notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 72 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 1,090.40 each, losing 5.12 per cent.
The turnover of Square Pharma was Tk 51 million. The company's share closed at Tk 238.30, gaining 0.04 per cent.
Northern Jute Manufacturing featured a turnover of Tk 50 million.
