UCB achieves milestone in new accounts

United Commercial Bank (UCB) opened over 0.1 million new accounts in just 36 working days, according to a statement.

This achievement was accomplished through the bank's branches, sub-branches, agent outlets and digital platforms.

A majority of these new accounts belong to individual customers and small entrepreneurs, a manifestation of the growing trust in UCB's banking services among the segments.

On this historic milestone, the bank's Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid said, "Despite various challenges and negative trends, opening over 0.1 million new accounts in the first quarter of the new financial year is a matter of great pride and joy for us."
