BADC starts selling Boro seeds in N-region

Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) has started selling different varieties of quality Boro seeds in Gaibandha at fair price, reports BSS.

Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation  allotted 680 tonnes of Boro seeds to sell among the farmers through its three sale centres located at district town, Palashbari and Gobindaganj upazila towns.

A sack of seed of BR-14, BRRI Dhan-28 and BRRI Dhan-29 weighing 10 kgs is being sold from the centres at Tk 350 and hybrid SL-8H at Tk 1,900, said an official of the BADC office here.

Till Saturday, some 50 tonnes of quality seeds of Boro paddy had been sold through the centres, he said.

Senior assistant director of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation  M Mazharul Islam said quality seeds of wheat, mustard and winter vegetables were also on sale at fair prices.

Winter vegetables like lalshak, mulashak, palongshak, bottle gourd, tomato and brinjal are also available. Farmers are purchasing vegetable seeds from the centres with much enthusiasm, he said.
