BGMEA's first vice-president Syed Najrul Islam distributes certificates among the participants at the concluding ceremony of a two-day training of garment employees and workers in the port city on Thursday CHATTOGRAM, July 01: The certificate giving ceremony was held after the end of a two-day training of garment employees and workers in the port city on Thursday afternoon.
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in association with the International Labor Organisation (ILO) arranged the training on Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations (SDIR) at the BGMEA's Chattogram office in Khulshi area.
BGMEA's first vice-president Syed Najrul Islam was present at the certificate awarding ceremony as the chief guest. Vice-president Rakibul Alam Chowddhury and director M Ahasanul Haque addressed the function as special guests.
In his address at the event, Syed Najrul Islam said, "(readymade garment) RMG is a labour-oriented sector. So, training is required to enhance skills of our workers. The training will help workers acquire skills."
A total of 65 participants from 17 readymade garment (RMG) factories attended the training on June 29-30.
The BGMEA leaders distributed the certificates among the participants.
