BSTI CONDUCTS MOBILE COURT DRIVES IN CITY

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) conducted mobile court drives in Khilgaon and Hatirjheel areas of Dhaka city on Saturday. Led by Executive Magistrate Lutfunnesa Khanam, the mobile court fined 'La-Organic' Tk 100,000 for producing and marketing lachcha semai, butter, honey, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and ghee without BSTI licence and packaging registration certificates. Around 600 kg of lachcha semai and 20 kg of butter were also seized. The mobile court also sealed off 'Prakriti Food' in Rampura Bazar area for marketing 'Cerelac' products without BSTI licence and packaging registration certificates. BSTI also seized and destroyed products worth around Tk 500,000.
