FE Report | February 12, 2018 00:00:00

The apex trade body and the Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI) on Sunday stressed the need for collaborative efforts to help the country's distressed children develop their talents.

The issue of cooperation with the private sector for uplifting the underprivileged children came up for discussion at an institutional dialogue (ID) between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI) progammes and activities in Bangladesh at the conference room of the apex trade body in Dhaka.

Executive director of DCI Dr Ehsanul Hoque presented a keynote paper citing its achievements in supporting the distressed children.

Senior vice-president of FBCCI Sheikh Fazle Fahim moderated the programme.

President of the FBCCI Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) said that the country has achieved many things due to the joint-efforts by the government and the private sector.

Lauding the achievements by DCI, he said, "If we work (private sector) together and cooperate each other, then it will be possible for us to create more enlightened people by patronising more underprivileged children mainly in the field of their education."
