Deal signed with Russia to buy 0.18m tonnes of fertiliser

The government will purchase 0.18 million (1,80,000) tonnes of Muriate of Potash ( MOP) fertiliser from the Russian Federation in the fiscal year of 2023-24.

As part of the move, a deal was signed between the two countries on Thursday in the Russian capital Moscow.

Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) and Russian state-owned enterprise Prodintorg signed the contract.

Chairman of BADC Abdullah Sazzad and Director General of Podintorg Andrei Sergeibitch signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

Agriculture secretary Wahida Akter, member director of BSDC Abdus Samad and deputy director of the MoA Badiul Alam were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
