EEE Alumni Reunion held at DUET

The first Alumni Reunion of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, was held in a vibrant and festive atmosphere on Saturday.

DUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Zoynal Abedin inaugurated the daylong event by releasing pigeons and balloons on Saturday, says a press release.
In his speech, he stated: "The students of this department are the architects behind the modern era, keeping the world moving through power grids, communication systems, and silicon technology. They continue to make significant contributions at both national and international levels. As we stand in 2026, we see that the Electrical and Electronic Engineering sector has entered a new reality."
As the special guest, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Md Arifin Kawsar, said the EEE Alumni Reunion serves as an effective platform to accelerate academic progress, create realistic linkages between industry and academia, and develop future leadership.
EEE Dean Professor Dr Ruma and Professor Dr Utpal Kumar Das, along with first-batch alumnus engineer Md Abdus Salam Khan were present.
The event was presided over by the Head of the EEE Department and convener of the programme, Professor Dr Mohammad Zakir Hossain.
At the beginning of the event, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, former three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh, a pioneer of the anti-autocracy movement and a popular leader.
