Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & CEO of IDCOL, received the FinanceAsia Award at the Awards Gala Dinner hosted in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) has been awarded the 'Best Sustainable Bank - Bangladesh' at the FinanceAsia Awards 2025 in recognition of its pioneering role in financing climate-smart infrastructure, renewable energy, and green industrial transformation projects in the country.
This marks the third consecutive year of recognition for IDCOL by FinanceAsia, underscoring its consistent leadership in sustainable banking and impactful development finance, says a statement.
Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & CEO of IDCOL, received the award on behalf of the organisation at the Awards Gala Dinner hosted in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
IDCOL was recognised for key transactions during the year which included financing of one of Bangladesh's largest grid-tied solar power plants as the Mandated Lead Arranger; financing of an energy-efficient steel melting project; and fund management of a World Bank-financed off-grid electrification facility in Malawi, which has ensured clean energy access to more than 1.0 million rural beneficiaries of that country.
Mr. Morshed said this prestigious international award stands as a reflection of IDCOL's meaningful contributions to sustainable financing, driving economic progress while strengthening Bangladesh's resilience to environmental challenges.
