A Bangladesh Biman aircraft has collided with a boarding bridge at Sylhet's Osmani International Airport, reports bdnews24.com.

The accident occurred around 10:30am on Wednesday, according to Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, director of the airport.

The flight was to carry 262 passengers to London. After the accident, it is undergoing testing to see whether it is fit to fly.

Hafiz said, "Engineers are checking the condition of the aircraft. In consideration of passenger safety, it was decided to send them to London using an alternative arrangement. The alternative aircraft will leave Sylhet with the passengers. The passengers are now waiting at Osmani Airport."

The airport authorities said that flight BG-201, a Boeing-787 Dreamliner, hit the boarding bridge during passenger boarding. This damaged a part of the aircraft's engine. Biman Bangladesh Airlines engineers are checking the technical condition of the aircraft.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines' engineering department said that necessary repairs will be made after examining the engine and structure of the damaged aircraft. However, the extent of damage has yet to be determined.
