Pak ECC approves export of 0.5m tonnes of wheat

ISLAMABAD: Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet has granted approval for export of 0.5 million tonnes of wheat by the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation, Punjab and Sindh, according to Pakistan-based News.
The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) was held in Islamabad on Monday with Finance Minister Asad Umar in the chair.
The meeting decided that any financial support for freight requested for the purpose would be provided by the respective provincial governments. It also decided that Federal Government would pick up such costs in the case of PASSCO only.
The ECC concluded that a committee comprising senior officials from Commerce, Finance and Food Security will review the situation in two week's time and make recommendation for further exports, if required.
