400 poor students get Shahjalal Islami Bank scholarship

The scholarship cheques were officially distributed at a ceremony organised at the bank's corporate head office on Wednesday.
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has provided scholarships to 400 poor and meritorious students who have passed SSC and equivalent examinations from different parts of the country, says a press release.
They are currently studying at various colleges of the country. There are 200 boy and 200 girl students among the scholarship recipients. A total of Tk 22 million (2.20 crore) will be given to the 400 scholarship recipients to complete their courses in two years.
The scholarship cheques were officially distributed at a ceremony organised at the bank's corporate head office on Wednesday.
50 (fifty) scholarship recipients received the scholarship cheques at the event. The scholarship money of the remaining 350 scholarship recipients will be paid into their respective bank accounts within a stipulated time. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank A. K. Azad handed over the scholarship cheques to the students as chief guest in the programme. Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over the programme.
