A total of 70 Bangladeshi technical interns would leave for Japan in phases without migration cost.
"The third batch of 70 technical interns will go to Japan through 'I am Japan' organisation without migration cost from March," State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad told a function on Sunday, reports BSS.
Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) organised the function at the ministry conference room, marking the occasion of technical interns' visit to Japan, with BMET Director General M Selim Reza in the chair.
Acting Secretary of the Ministry Rawnak Jahan and chief executive officer of 'I am Japan' organisation Kyoi Yanagisawa also spoke at the function.
Describing Japan as a genuine friend, the state minister said initiatives would be taken soon to expand Bangladesh's labour market in Japan and added: "Keep confidence in Bangladesh's youth."
CEO Kyoi Yanagisawa said that one of the main reasons for giving opportunity to go to Japan without migration cost is that the interns could play role in the country's development work as entrepreneurs by improving skills and experiences.
Representatives of the technical interns including Nasrin Akter, Khusbu Akter and Ziaur Rahman exchanged views at the function.
