A B M Azad made BPC Chairman

CHATTOGRAM, June 02: A B M Azad has been appointed as Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). He took over charges at the BPC on Monday last, said sources with the BPC.

Mr Azad replaced Md Abu Bakr Siddique, who has been transferred from the BPC to the Bridges Division as its Secretary.

Mr Azad was the Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram before joining the BPC as its Chairman. Earlier, received the Public Administration Award in 2018 as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kurigram for his contributions to the implementation of a project, titled "ICT-based Information to Stop Child Marriage".

Mr Azad obtained his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Management of the University of Dhaka.

After taking over the charges, the new BPC chairman also offered wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi in the capital on Tuesday.
