ACI Motors launches two farm machines

ACI Motors has launched two farm machines-a harvester and a rice transplanter-produced by the Japanese agriculture technology giant Yanmar Agrotech to introduce advanced farming technology in the country.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque inaugurated the products at a city hotel on Wednesday night.

Earlier ACI Motors signed an agreement with the Japanese company in 2018.

In accordance with that agreement, both the companies will work together to develop the agriculture sector of Bangladesh by introducing and developing new technologies. They will introduce more advanced technology for the agriculture sector in future.

Speaking at the programme, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque said his government gave priority in mechanisation of farming.

He said the country already achieved sufficiency in food production and the people in the country became capable of buying the required food.

"Now our focus is to ensure nutritionally-enriched, safe and quality food for the country's people," he said.

Hiroyasu Izumi, Ambassador of Japan in Bangladesh, and Hiroaki Kitaoka, President of YANMAR Agribusiness CO. LTD, Japan, were present as special guests.

M. Anis Ud Dowla, Chairman of ACI Limited, Dr. Arif Dowla, Managing Director of ACI Limited, Dr. F H Ansarey, Managing Director of ACI Motors Ltd., and Subrata Ranjan Das, Executive Director of ACI Motors, were also present on the occasion.
