Automobile and Agro-machinery Fair opens in city

Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan has said the automobile, agro-machinery, and light engineering sectors have demonstrated the potential and sustainability of the country's industrial sector.

"These sectors have played a vital role in the multi-dimensional expansion of the country's exports, employment generation, and overall economic development," he said while inaugurating a two-day 'Automobile and Agro-machinery Fair 2025: Road to Made in Bangladesh' at Tejgaon in the capital on Saturday, reports BSS.

The adviser said that the fair would boost investor confidence and open new business opportunities.

The main goal for the country is to establish the 'Made in Bangladesh' brand as a global symbol of standard. To achieve this, he stressed the need for the flourishing of production-oriented industries, the transfer of technology, research and innovation, and the development of skilled manpower.

Speaking as a special guest, Secretary to the Industries Ministry Md Obaidur Rahman said the automobiles, agro-machineries and light engineering sectors have been playing a vital role in country's development.

He mentioned that the ministry is working tirelessly to build a robust industrial sector and create a skilled workforce.

The event was chaired by Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury Parvez, President of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI). Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of the SME Foundation, was also present.

Dr. M Masrur Reaz presented the keynote paper during the event.
