Bangladesh Angels Network (BAN), an angel investment platform, on Saturday organised its 8th Startup Showcase at the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) auditorium in the city.
The event, sponsored by Trust Bank PLC, brought together investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders, with Sadat Ahmed Khan, senior vice president and head of the SME Division at the bank, attending as the keynote corporate representative.
Individuals with success in startups shared firsthand how BAN is driving real impact in the startup ecosystem and reshaping the future of entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
MD Khaled Hasan, lead corporate finance at Jatri, Sayem Faruk, CEO and founder of Airwork AI, Fahim Salam, co-founder and CEO of Nuport, attended the event.
They shared insights from their journeys and the strategies that have shaped their success.
BAN CEO Ivy Huq Russell emphasised the success stories emerging from the Network's portfolio highlighting PulseTech's recent US$ 3.0million.
BAN connects early-stage startups with investors through capital, mentorship, and strategic guidance.
With 51 portfolio companies, including Pathao, Jatri, Chaldal, and Nuport, and co-investments alongside Sequoia Capital, Accelerating Asia, SOSV Green Bridge Capital, Startup Bangladesh, and other regional partners, BAN has facilitated more than US$ 1.5 million in funding.
The organisers said that the event will empower local founders, open doors to cross-border investment opportunities, and strengthen the Bangladeshi startup ecosystem as a whole. It will also bridge the gap between promising early-stage startups and investors.
In collaboration with institutional partners, including Trust Bank Ltd and UCB Investments Ltd, BAN continues to strengthen the national early-stage investment landscape.
The Winter Showcase is BAN's flagship platform where some emerging startups, selected through expert screening and primary due diligence, present to leading investors and corporates.
This year, the programme has also featured international startups, fostering cross-border collaboration.
With over 150 participants, the event has included curated startup pitches, some panel discussions, and high-value networking among investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders.
The Financial Express was the media partner of the event.
