Banks stand by flood victims

In response to devastating floods in some parts of the country, various banks and their employees came forward to help the flood-affected people and made donations to mitigate their sufferings.

Dutch-Bangla Bank

Dutch-Bangla Bank has donated Tk 100 million to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund to help the flood-affected people in various districts of the country, says a press release.

The bank deposited the money into the Fund's account maintained with Sonali Bank on Sunday.

Earlier at a meeting on Thursday, the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the bank made the decision to donate the money.

The Committee also expressed deep concern and conveyed sympathy to the flood victims.

Jamuna Bank

The employees of Jamuna Bank PLC have collectively donated their one-day's salary to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund for the flood victims, says a press release.

This contribution reflects the bank's deep commitment to social responsibility and its unwavering support for those in need.

Mirza Ilyas Uddin Ahmed, MD & CEO of Jamuna Bank, expressed pride in the collective effort of the employees, emphasising that every contribution, regardless of size, has made a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by this disaster.

IFIC Bank

Employees of IFIC Bank PLC, the largest bank in the country with more than 1400 branches and sub-branches, have donated their one-day's salary to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund to stand beside the flood victims.

On August 25, a cheque for Tk 10 million was issued in favour of the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund.

Earlier on 25th August, the bank has handed over separate funds, foods, emergency medicine and relief goods to different social and cultural organisations at the TSC, University of Dhaka, for distribution among the flood victims, says a press release.

Trust Bank

Driven by a sense of humanitarian duty, all employees of Trust Bank have contributed Tk 10 million to the interim government's Chief Advisor's Relief and Welfare Fund for the flood-affected people.

The amount of donation, which is equivalent to their one day's salary, was deposited to the Chief Advisor's Relief and Welfare Fund, says a press release.
