Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has signed separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with four agencies to add seven new services to BIDA's online 'one-stop service' (OSS) platform, aiming to facilitate businesses.
The four agencies are Sylhet City Corporation, Rangpur City Corporation, Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company, and Southeast Bank.
BIDA Executive Member Dr. Khandoker Azizul Islam inked the MoU with the Southeast Bank, while BIDA Director General Jibon Krishna Saha Roy inked the MoUs with the three other agencies.
Chairman of BIDA and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun attended the event as the chief guest, says a statement.
With the new seven services the total number of services offered through the OSS platform surpassed 130.
Since its inception in 2019, the OSS platform has processed over 170,000 applications, with a 99 per cent resolution rate.
However, only 5,000 applications have been related to services provided by other agencies, indicating the need for further adoption and integration of the platform.
Speaking at the event, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun emphasised the importance of improving service delivery for investors.
"Through the OSS platform, we aim to make the service delivery process more accessible and efficient. Our long-term plan includes establishing a single entry point, enabling investors to access services from all IPAs using a single ID," he said, adding that this will eliminate redundancy, improve monitoring, and ensure seamless service delivery.
"We urge investors to actively utilise the BIDA OSS platform," he said.
Dr. Khandoker Azizul Islam said the platform aims to promote both time management and conservation of resources while ensuring streamlined services for investors, he added.
Representatives from the respective organisations, including Southeast Bank's Managing Director Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, attended the event.
