FE REPORT
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to launch international flights on the Dhaka-Karachi route, starting January 29.
The service will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, according to a press release issued by the national carrier on Wednesday.
The flights will depart from Dhaka at 8:00pm local time, arriving in Karachi at 11:00pm local time. Return flights from Karachi will depart at midnight, reaching Dhaka at 4:20am.
Boshra Islam, General Manager (Public Relations) at Biman, in the press release, said the flights will be operated with modern aircraft and skilled crew to ensure passengers enjoy a comfortable and safe travel experience.
She also highlighted Biman's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service quality.
The launch of the Dhaka-Karachi flight service is expected to ease travel between Bangladesh and Pakistan, facilitating not only tourism but also business and family connections.
Prior to this, the route had been unavailable for regular commercial service since Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended operations in 2018 due to financial losses.
This new service follows a positive shift in diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan following the 2024 mass uprising. As a result, two private Pakistani airlines have also received approval to operate flights on the Dhaka-Karachi route.
Passengers can book their tickets through Biman's sales offices, authorised travel agents, the airline's call centre at 13636 or +88096109-13636, or via the official website at www.biman-airlines.com.
