CCB elects Mozibul as its president, Shams secy

K M Mozibul Hoque becomes president, and Shams Mahmud, secretary-general, of Consular Corps in Bangladesh (CCB), while Neaz Ahmed, honorary consul of New Zealand has been appointed as vice-president, and the honorary consul of Republic of Seychelles Md Amiruzzaman as treasurer, says a release.

The 10th AGM of CCB was held at a city hotel recently and endorsed and announced an 11-member executive committee for the period of 2018-19.

Executive committee members include the immediate past president Kazi Shamsul Haque, honorary consul general of Kyrgyz Republic, Md Amiruzzaman, honorary consul of Republic of Uganda, Abul Hossain, honorary consul of the Philippines in Chattogram, Mohammed Abdul Awwal, honorary consul of the Republic of Gambia, Kazi Khurram Ahmed, honorary consul of the Republic of Korea in Gazipur, Mohammed Mohsin, honorary consul of the Republic of South Africa, Solaiman Alam Seth, and honorary consul of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Mohammed Taneem Hasan.

Incoming president K M Mozibul Hoque is serving as the honorary consul general of Yemen. He is an entrepreneur by profession, chairing Shah Group and Total Air Services Limited. He was recognized as a CIP in 1989-2000 and was also elected as the National President of Bangladesh Junior Chamber (BJC) in 1991.

Secretary general Shams Mahmud is serving as the honorary consul of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. He is the Managing Director of Shasha Denims Ltd. Shasha Garments Ltd. He is also a Director of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Immediate past President Kazi Shamsul Hoque hosted a dinner in honour of the new committee and all other members of CCB present in the programme.
