CCCI administrator’s tenure extended

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 02: The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Administrator and Chattogram Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Pasha's current tenure has been extended by 90 days to a total of 210 days.
The extension was notified in a letter signed by Amit Deb Nath, Senior Assistant Secretary (Additional Duties), Trade Organisation-1 Branch of the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday. The letter states, "The expiry date of the administrator of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been extended by 90 (ninety) days as per Section 17 of the Trade Organisations Act, 2025 from 7-01-2025."
Muhammad Anwar Pasha, Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram, was appointed as the administrator of CCCI, the highest apex body of the businessmen of the port city on September 9 last. Under the Section 17 of the Trade Organisations Act 2022, Muhammad Anwar Pasha has been appointed as the administrator of CCCI.
On September 9 last, Additional Secretary (Director General Trade Organisations) Dr. Nazneen Kausar Chowdhury signed an order in the Ministry of Commerce in this regard. According to the order, the appointed administrator Muhammad Anwar Pasha will hand over the responsibility to an elected committee after a free and fair election within next 120 days.
Earlier, the committee of CCCI resigned on September 2. All 24 directors of CCCI including its President Omar Hajjaz submitted the resignation letters to the ministry.
