Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS Global USA & Asia-Pacific, speaks at a press conference on Sunday.

A set of trade shows focused on construction and energy will begin at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on November 14, aiming to give an impetus to the country's economy.

The three-day expositions will feature six simultaneous events -- '29th Build Bangladesh 2024', '23rd Real Estate Expo 2024', '26th Power Bangladesh 2024 International Expo', '21st Solar Bangladesh 2024 International Expo' and 'The 6th Dhaka International Lighting Expo 2024', and '6th Water Bangladesh Expo 2024'.

CEMS-Global, organiser of the events, announced the trade show at a press conference held at the National Press Club on Sunday.

Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS Global USA & Asia-Pacific, presided over the press conference. Tanveer Qamrul Islam, Executive Director of CEMS-Global, Mahmud Riyad Hassan, DGM--Marketing & Sales, CEMS Bangladesh, and Asraful Islam, AGM--Business Development and Strategic Planning, CEMS Bangladesh, were also present at the briefing.

The trade fair will remain open for visitors from 10:30am to 8:00pm, with entry available through both online and offline registration.

The fair will showcase the latest advancements in construction materials, real estate development, power generation, and renewable energy solutions.

Meherun N. Islam said they are going to create a matchmaking platform aimed at connecting local and global business entities.

"In addition to the six expositions, we shall also hold a number of seminars and discussions so that the industry people get opportunities to explore new ideas," she said.

She emphasised that these events will continue to position Bangladesh as a global player in the real estate, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.

"As we are aware that Bangladesh's construction market size is expected to grow from $30.38 billion in 2023 to $41.47 billion by 2028, it is understood that the construction sector is a driving force behind the economic progress of Bangladesh."

These multi-sectoral exhibitions will enhance the possibility to increase B2B connection in all the sectors, Meherun added.

The expo on water will provide a platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and industry professionals to connect, network, and explore the latest advancements in water treatment and wastewater technologies, she said.

More than 200 companies from 20 countries are expected to join the event.
