Commercial Bank of Ceylon extends CSR grant to Shakti Foundation

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to community development by extending a CSR grant to Shakti Foundation for its Caregiver Skills Development Program. The cheque was handed over by Najith Meewanage, Chief Executive Officer of the bank, to Imran Ahmed, Deputy Executive Director of Shakti Foundation. The initiative aims to provide government-accredited vocational training and certification to underprivileged youths, with 70 per cent targeted to be women. The six-month programme will include classroom training, internships, career counselling and job placement support to enhance employability in the growing care-giving sector. Through this partnership, the bank continues to promote education, women's empowerment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities in Bangladesh.
