CUFL to resume production tomorrow

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2 (BSS): The state-owned Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Company Ltd. (CUFL) will resume its production on Tuesday, nine months after it was shut down following gas supply crisis.

The factory was declared closed on December 22 last year.

Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company (KGDCL) will resume gas supply to CUFL on Tuesday.

Managing Director of KGDCL Engr. Khair Ahmed Majumder said as per requirement of the CUFL, the KGDCL is ready to supply gas from next Tuesday.

The KGDCL has taken quick decision to supply gas following the request of CUFL.

Sources said the daily average demand for gas in the factory is about 50 mcft. This quantity of gas is simultaneously used as fuel for the factory and as a raw material for urea fertiliser.
