Customs houses to remain open during Durga Puja holidays

The operations of the countrywide customs houses will remain open on a limited scale today (Wednesday) during the holidays centring on Durga Puja festival.

The move is aimed to ensure uninterrupted trade flow despite the two-day public holiday from October 1 to 2, marking the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community.

In a notice on Tuesday the National Board of Revenue (NBR) asked officials to take necessary steps so that cross-border shipments can proceed during the festival period.
