Dutch-Bangla Bank holds 29th AGM

Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC held its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on a virtual platform on Thursday, with its Chairman Sadia Rayen Ahmed in the chair.

Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC held its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on a virtual platform on Thursday, with Sadia Rayen Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, in the chair, says a statement.

A large number of shareholders virtually participated in the AGM. They approved 20 per cent dividend -- 10 per cent in cash and 10 per cent in stock -- for the year 2024.

Total assets of the bank as of 31 December, 2024 stood at Tk 679,875 million compared to Tk 593,883 million in 2023, registering a growth of 14.5 per cent. Loans and advances of the bank stood at Tk 428,689 million at the end of 2024, with a growth of 4.0 per cent.

The deposits grew by Tk 49,282 million to Tk 521,872 million in 2024 from Tk 472,590 million at the end of 2023, showing a growth of 10.4 per cent.

In 2024, the bank's profit before tax stood at Tk 5,369 million and profit after tax stood at Tk 4,734 million. During the year under review, earnings per share, attributable to shareholders, was Tk 5.39.

The meeting approved the re-appointment of Tang Yuen Ha, Ada as Director of the bank.

The meeting also appointed PKF Aziz Halim Khair Choudhury, Chartered Accountants as the external auditor and Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co., Chartered Accountants as Corporate Governance Compliance Auditor of the bank for 2025.
