Egyptian businesses want to invest in power sector: Envoy

Egyptian Ambassador in Dhaka Walid Ahmed Shamseldin said on Tuesday that Egyptian entrepreneurs want to invest in Bangladesh, particularly in the power sector, reports UNB.

The ambassador said this during a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the latter's office in the city.

The envoy also expressed his concern about the Rohingya issue, said a foreign ministry statement.

The foreign minister praised the remarkable progress of Egypt in recent years.

He talked about the opportunities of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He affirmed Bangladesh's continuous effort to deepen ties with Egypt.

The Egyptian ambassador expressed his desire to work towards strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economic development, trade and investment, agriculture and tourism.

Both sides stressed the need for exchange of high-level visits to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
