FBCCI team off to US to attend UN General Assembly

A high-level business delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) left the capital on Sunday evening to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations as part of the entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin is leading the business delegation.

Apart from attending the UN General Assembly, the FBCCI delegation will join various others programmes there.

The delegation will take part in a meeting on 'Bangladesh Forward: The New Frontier for Growth' organised by the US-Bangladesh Business Council on September 21 in honour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence.

FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin will attend the conference on 'New World New Hope: United Nations and Bangladesh' to be organised on the sidelines of the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations by the NRB Worldwide Inc. on September 23.

The FBCCI trade delegation will attend the Delivery of Statement at the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly on September 24.

FBCCI leaders will also take part in a business meeting to be organised by the US-Bangladesh Business Alliance (ABBA) on that evening.

FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin will attend the conference on "New World New Hope: US-Bangladesh Socio-Economic Perspectives" as a special guest on September 26.

Among the FBCCI business delegates are: Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Senior Vice President, Md. Aminul Haque Shamim, Vice President, Salahuddin Alamgir, Vice President, M. A. Razzak Khan Raj, Vice President of FBCCI.

Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) member of parliament (MP) and former president of FBCCI, A M Naimur Rahman, lawmaker and Managing Director, Chase Power Limited, and Benjir Ahmed, M.P are also part of the FBCCI delegation.

The FBCCI delegation is expected to leave New York for Dhaka on September 27.
