Fisheries Week begins July 18

The National Fisheries Week-2018 will be observed in the country from July 18 to 24 across the country, reports UNB.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the week on July 19 by releasing fish fry into the lake of Ganobhaban.

The information was disclosed at a coordinated meeting held at the fisheries ministry on Tuesday.

A rally will be brought out from the Matsya Bhaban around 8:00am on July 18.

Besides, five-day and three-day fish fairs will begin at Mymensingh Fisheries Research Institute and its five epicentres respectively on July 20.

A seminar on 'Bangladesh Fisheries and Aquaculture: Potentials and Challenges for Development and Exports/Blue Economy' will be held in Mymensingh on July 23.

On the concluding day, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda will distribute National Fisheries Award-18 among the persons and institutions at Krishibid Institution.
